The Gyrgartahüs is situated in Meierhof on a side road, set amongst a large, fenced-in and well-tended garden. The unobstructed location offers sweeping views across the upper Surselva with its striking mountains and the villages scattered along the right-hand side of the Vorderrhein valley. On the ground floor of the house is a ski storage room accessible from outside. A parking space is available on the property’s private grounds.
The house, which is featured in the Swiss Cultural Guide, was built in 1916 by the architect Coray, renovated between 1975 and 1980 and fitted with soundproofed floors. Complete refurbishment in 2022. The post office, bus stop, restaurants, grocery shop, cash machine and the valley station of the Meierhof–Kartitscha chairlift are all within a few minutes’ walk.
