OpenBooking was launched together with the successful Swiss destination Zermatt. In addition to being nominated for the Milestone Award in the category “Outstanding Project”, the metasearch is already used nationally by Switzerland Tourism.
OpenBooking already searches more than 100,000 accommodation and package offers that are available online for our customers.
OpenBooking is a metasearch that covers the entire service chain. It aggregates every tourism product offered by a wide range of booking providers.
This gives tourism organisations access to all bookable availabilities and master data from a single source. OpenBooking also provides an integrated accommodation directory, where you can list offers that are not bookable online.
With OpenBooking we have created a marketplace where booking providers and tourism organisations can meet each other on equal footing.
Built on experience
OpenBooking started in 2014 as a project within the web agency that was then operating under the name “PIXELTEX” and evolved into an independent limited company in 2019.
Our CEO Louis Brauer has been working in Swiss tourism since 2001. Until 2009 he was Head of e-Business at Switzerland Tourism and co-responsible for the strategic and technical development of the national tourism portal MySwitzerland.com – including the tourism board’s CRM and the industry CMS Gadmin that has powered more than 120 website projects.
Deeply rooted in the industry
OpenBooking is a member of Switzerland Tourism and maintains an ongoing exchange with the dedicated specialists on the digital team.
Switzerland Tourism also relies on OpenBooking as its metasearch engine and data provider for all accommodation data.
The Swiss Tourism Federation sources key accommodation data for holiday apartments via the OpenBooking Data Hub and supplies classification data that is distributed across our connected tourism portals.
HotellerieSuisse, the association of innovative and sustainable accommodation providers in Switzerland, delivers hotel master data and classification details via the swisshoteldaten database to OpenBooking.
