Description
Coming from Bellinzona, the silhouette of the Palazzo Comacio appears on the outskirts of Roveredo, right next to the Romanesque tower of the church of San Giulio. The imposing building bears the name of its builder, Tomaso Comacio.
Roveredo is the capital of Mesolcina and is located in the valley floor. The village is nestled in a mountainous hill landscape, which gives a sense of security. In addition to various notable historic buildings, Roveredo offers a lively village life and intact infrastructure, such as grocery stores, an organic products shop, two butcher shops, two pharmacies, a bakery, restaurants, and bars.
The Moesa River, which runs through the village, allows for safe swimming during the summer season.
By public transport, Bellinzona is reachable in half an hour, while Locarno and Lugano in one hour.
