The current building, constructed in the early 1900s on the original foundations, is one of the oldest in the area. Alongside the church, it formed the first core of the picturesque village of Casima, located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters at the foot of Monte Generoso. In 2022, the Guastalla family purchased the property from the historic Travella family, who had preserved it for generations.
