Description
Traditional hut near the Zapport and Paradies gleschers, at the source of the Hinterrhein. The Zapporthütte, built in 1872 on the edge of the glacier, lies at 2,276 m above sea level.
The Zappor hut has room for 20-24 beds in dormitories with duvets.
The hut is open from the end of February until mid-May and from the end of June until mid-October. The rest of the time it is open (with cooking facilities).
Please note that the trail from Hinterrhein to the hut is a very demanding mountain hike (duration approx. 3.5 hours). As the first part of the hike leads across the area of the Swiss Army's tank firing range, it is essential to observe the military firing publications, tel. +41 (0)58 482 11 11.
For further information and reservations, please contact the hut warden Daniela Zwyer. See contact information.
