DETAILED TEXT

Location and surroundings
Tired of the Engadin? The Misox is a real insider tip! Right next door is the Calanca Valley, a paradise for hikers, and the San Bernardino surprises with more possibilities than you might think in summer and winter, including a ski area.

Directly behind the house, just a five-minute walk away, is a waterfall with a large natural pool. Here you can swim and jump, the water is cold, but on hot summer days just the right refreshment. You can often swim here until well into October.

The house
The Waterfall House is located in Andergia above Mesocco, in the centre of a group of authentic rustic houses. Minimally furnished, it nevertheless offers everything you need for a stay with family or friends, whether for a few days or longer.

The house is spread over three floors:
- Ground floor: entrance, main bathroom, tool room and ground cellar.
- First floor: kitchen, living room and a single bedroom. Both the kitchen and living room have dining tables for 4 to a maximum of 6 people.
- Second floor: three double bedrooms, two of which have small desks. One room with a double futon can accommodate up to 4 adults or 6 children. There is an additional WC between the first and second floor.

Living and working
The quiet environment is perfect as a work retreat or for relaxing with family and friends.
- In the living room, a large soapstone stove provides cosy warmth for up to 24 hours after several hours of heating.
- The kitchen has its own small stove and the bedrooms on the upper floor can be heated with mobile radiators if required.
- Cherry stone pillows are ideal for pre-heating beds.

Atmosphere and neighbourhood
Mesocco is not a tourist resort and that is precisely what makes it so special. The house is in a quiet location, without traffic. Children can play outside undisturbed, run along the stream and explore the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is friendly, helpful and at the same time pleasantly reserved. In the evening, it's worth taking a walk into the village and stopping off at one of the restaurants.

Arrival and accessibility
- From the village of Mesocco you can reach the house in about 20 minutes on foot (slightly uphill) from the bus stop. It is possible to order groceries from the Coop directly online and have them delivered to the house.
- Mesocco can be reached from Zurich in just 2.5 hours by car or public transport.
- The location in the canton of Graubünden, on the south side towards Ticino, combines the best of both worlds: alpine landscape, Italian flair, good cuisine, mild climate.

Leisure activities
- Summer & autumn: hiking, swimming, collecting chestnuts and walnuts, mushroom hunting.
- Winter: Ski tours on the San Bernardino, skiing in the San Bernardino or Tschappina areas, cross-country skiing, wellness at the Eden Roc Spa in Locarno. Tip: arrive early in winter so that the soapstone stove can be heated in good time.
- Spring: go for walks and enjoy the first warm rays of sunshine.

Outdoor area
There is a dining table in front of the house. A few steps away, next to a freshly planted apple tree, is a garden area with a large table and parasol. Perfect for outdoor meals together.

Art and farm shop
Right next to the house, in a former goat shed, is the farm shop-inspired "The Estate". A work of art is presented there and you can make your own espresso: scan the QR code on the barn door and the code will be sent to you by email. Works by young and established contemporary artists are also exhibited in the house itself. The Waterfall House is a place for guests with an affinity for art and design through and through.
