The beautifully situated group house Maria Rat in Kippel in the Lötschen Valley (Valais, Switzerland) is equipped for self-catering. 70 beds in 10 bedrooms, 1 dining room, 3 lounges, 1 ping-pong room, well-equipped military kitchen, cellar, terrace, playground. Easily accessible by bus and car. The house is divided as follows: Basement: 1 playroom, 2 group showers, cloakroom, ski room, WC. Ground floor: group kitchen, 2 dining and recreation rooms, 3 training/group rooms, 1 leader room with 2 beds and WC/toilet, 2 separate WCs and 2 urinals. Upper floor: 3 dormitories, each with 12 beds (cabins), 1 leader's room with 4 beds and WC, 1 washroom, 2 WC and 2 urinals. Ground floor: 3 dormitories with 8 beds each (cabins), 1 ladder room with 4 beds each (1 cabin), 1 sickroom with 1 bed and WC, 1 washroom, 2 WC and 2 urinals Miscellaneous: - High voltage current for deep fryer available - Blackboards (no beamer or screen) available - Campers (pupils) bring a sheet and a sleeping bag. - Bed linen will be provided for the leaders at CHF 20.00/person. - for the bunk beds there is a pillowcase and a woollen blanket at CHF 3.00/person. The valley station of the cable car Wiler - Lauchernalp is located in Wiler, one village further up, and takes you from 1419 m a.s.l. to 1969 m a.s.l. It also operates in summer. The chairlifts from Lauchernalp Stafel and the gondola lift only operate in winter.
