Berginsel

Oberems

Description

As part of an agrotourism project, the former guard house of the hydroelectric power plant in Oberems (Valais, Switzerland) was converted into the current group accommodation Berginsel. With regard to the almost 100 years old building, a modern, colourful, uncomplicated but simple accommodation was created. With a lot of love for detail, the house presents itself as a hiking trail that leads guests from the village of Oberems up to the Weisshorn. The Berginsel (mountain island) stands on a hill at the edge of Oberems village, high above the Rhone valley, at 1350 m above sea level. From Turtmann, Oberems is easily accessible by cable car. Directly at the entrance to the wildly romantic Turtman valley, the mountain island is an ideal starting point for short hikes or larger mountain tours. The quiet location on the edge of the village, the proximity to the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park and the wonderful view also offer ideal conditions for rest and relaxation in nature or for seminars. The two host families spoil guests with products from their own farms and the surrounding area. A rich breakfast with a lot of homemade food is part of the standard offer. On request, the guests can also be supplied with a traditional dinner in the evening. If you prefer to cook yourself, you can use the kitchen. There is a cooking stove, a steamer, a dishwasher, warming cabinet and refrigerator. Coffee, many herbal teas and drinks - including beer and wine - are always available.
