Kalu-Gädi, Romantischer Stadel

The Kalu-Gädi is our jewel with a spectacular view in a quiet location. The building is a restored grain barn from the Upper Valais, which we rebuilt in 2008 on a picturesque plot in the Winkelmatten district of Zermatt. The interior fittings, which have been lovingly and perfectly integrated into the 5 x 4.5 metre exterior dimensions, are made exclusively from reclaimed wood. The barn has two storeys. The kitchen, dining area and sleeping accommodation are located on the upper floor. The kitchen has a modern induction hob and a combi-steam cooker. The lower bed is 1.40 metres wide, the two upper beds 1 metre each. An internal spiral staircase connects the floors. The bathroom on the ground floor fulfils all requirements. Next to the bathroom is a small living room with sofa, armchair and TV as well as direct access to the private outdoor terrace, where tenants can enjoy cosy barbecue evenings. The upper floor is heated exclusively by a wood-fired soapstone stove, while the living room and bathroom on the ground floor are equipped with underfloor heating. Our gem can be reached via a "green meadow". Due to the hillside location, a certain level of fitness is an advantage for tenants. Tenants have the option of using a tunnel for direct access to Chalet Kalunghi, which is located directly below Kalu-Gädi. The tunnel, which is accessible from Staldenstrasse, leads directly to Chalet Kalunghi via a lift.
